I agree with his statement about loyalty, obedience and the military.

However, you should still retain the ability to call bullshit and act on it; that's something called "morals".

Illegal acts are still illegal. Shooting someone in the back just because you are ordered to is still murder.

If the act is illegal, and you disagree with it, you should stand up to it.
If the act is legal, and you disagree with it, you should suck it up (or ask for a reprieve if it's painful enough).

Definition of "legal" in this case should be *plainly* legal/illegal. War in Iraq? Who knows yet?

I can tell I've been doing too much programming when my arguments start looking like "if...then..." statements. :)
